Menuitem=DEFAULT, Start Laptop/Desktop without DVD/CD (default setting). You can try Hiren's BootCD as well, to verify if the issue can be solved by using their mouse driver. I used Hiren's boot CD installed to a USB flash drive to boot a pure DOS (actually Win98 SE) environment, and both keyboard and mouse work well at the same time. I don't have the exact same setup you have, but I have a docked T60 with USB keyboard (Lenovo Enhanced Performance) and USB mouse (Logitech MX310) attached, and I just verified that they work well together in DOS mode.

Just to be sure - are you using the same mouse driver in all your DOS environments? You can also see if a different mouse driver will play nice with your keyboard setup. On a laptop, the internal keyboard + trackpoint / touchpad already emulate PS/2, so there may be some conflicts which will not happen on a desktop.

This is why you don't need any DOS USB drivers to get the keyboard + mouse working (you do need a standard DOS PS/2 mouse driver). Legacy USB support indeed works by emulating PS/2 to the OS. Or it may be that the keyboard is somehow not compliant to some particular standard having to do with Legacy USB support. It may be some strange compatibility issue with K740 keyboard and Thinkpads (or specifically T61). My gut feeling is that it's the keyboard's fault. * Some other wireless keyboard + mouse - works fine on T61 Thinkpads

* Logitech K740 + mouse - does not work in DOS on T61 Thinkpads (cannot click mouse / trackpoint / touchpad buttons) * Logitech K740 + mouse - works fine in DOS on desktop systems So, I'm trying to sort through all the data. but again, it's very inconvenient as we are going to DOS a lot for dos apps etc.Īlso, it's the same problem for any boot manager we've tried. Inconvenient workaround if it works at all.ĮDIT: This works. Am I missing a bios setting for this? Using Middleton.Īlso haven't tried a wireless keyboard with the usb mouse. It's the same while using the Adv Dock or directly via the T61. Also tried powered usb hubs but same problem. Tried various mice but only have tried a couple of logitech K740's to test.* Same results all around. Haven't tried dos 6.x but I suspect it would be the same problem. Not a 'dos box' but actual dos 7 and\or win98 command prompt as well as dos apps\programs. It appears the mouse is working, but you can't click anything.

I can move the mouse pointer without a problem but I can't click anything at all (no response). But keyboard will work when mouse is connected.ĮDIT (I apologize for leaving out a critical detail) The mouse will not work until keyboard is disconnected.

Can anyone help me figure out how to use a USB mouse WITH a USB keyboard in DOS?
